GENERAL INFORMATION

 The Air Force Museum is located in Şaşmaz Location.

The official opening of the museum, which was put into service on September 18, 1998, was made by Sabiha Gökçen, the adopted daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our country's first female pilot.

A rich collection such as all kinds of  aircraft,weapons,ammunition and ground defense systems in the Turkish Air Force inventory register is classified and exhibited in the open exhibition area.

Visitors can enter the Air Force Museum and the pilothouse of one training plane and one fighter-bomber plane,which were used by the Air Force Command.

In the indoor exbition area of the museum, important events related to Turkish and world aviation and the history of Turkish airforce is exhibited chronologically with various photographs,models and animations.

Air officer and pilot uniforms from the Ottoman Era to the present are exbihited.

The museum consisted of two exhibitions, inside and outside. Warplanes were exhibited outside.

The museum is located on  Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard,  approximately 16 km (9.9 mi) to Ankara.

HOW DID WE GO?    

Everyone came to the Umitköy metro station. The distance between the Turkish Air Force Museum and Umitköy metro station is 6.2km. So, we reached the museum by taxi from the metro station.However, you can take the ego bus number 521 from Umitköy metro station and transfer to the ego bus number 523 at the Air Engineering Command stop and go to the museum.
